It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dennis Neil Barry (Syracuse, New York), born in Oswego, New York, who passed away on March 26, 2020, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barry and Helen O'Neill Barry; and his siblings, Evelyn (Hutcheson), Nancy (Piazza), Kathleen (McDonough), John, Kevin, Joseph and Gerald.

He is survived by: his sons, Ryan Barry (Carrie) of Clinton and Sean Barry (Denise) of Liverpool; his siblings, William Barry (Jeanette) of Florida, Mary Bellardini (Ernest) of Oswego and Linda Barry of Illinois; and his grandsons, Jacob and Jack of Clinton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Dennis was my best friend on the USS Wainwright 1968-1969. He was all Man in every way. He carried a large scar on his head, pistol whipped by an ex-con with a gun, the weekend that we left Charleston, heading for Vietnam. We worked side by side in aft boiler room, and I don't think that I could have made it in one piece, if not for him being by my side. I know that he became a welder. We spoke on the phone a few times, but I never found the time to visit him again. I truly loved Dennis RIP,”
