She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Writer and Mary Writer; her children, Mary Jo Fitzgerald and Michael; and her siblings, Diane DiFucci, Rosie Ford, Andrea "Sissy" Thompson, Ray and Mabel Writer (late Edward Thompson).
She is survived by: her friend Joe Guilianelli; her children, David Guilianelli (MJ) of Austin, Dionne Welch (Matt) of Mechanicville, Tanya Thompson of Gloversville and Jamie Thompson (Chris English) of Mechanicville; her son-in-law John Fitzgerald of Florida; her grandchildren, Sammi, Tabbi, Jaybo, David, Shawna, Alicia, Jess, Mikala and Nicholas; and her pet Oliver Cruz.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to All Saints on the Hudson Church, in loving memory of Rita A. Thompson.
