He is survived by: his daughter Beverly "Denise"; his son-in-law Carl Thomas; his granddaughter Tatum; his great grandchild Jalen; and his sisters, Betty and Marion. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, as a gesture of sympathy during this difficult time, the family asks to support planting a memorial tree, or contributing to the Alzheimer's Association.
