He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Smith and Signe Smith (Hill); and his wife Jane P. Smith. He is survived by: his sons, Nathaniel L. Smith and Philip C. Smith (Michelle Gonzalez-Smith); his grandsons, Landon Bledsoe and Connor Smith; and his sisters, Sena Monaco and Karen Brosnahan.
