He is survived by: his wife Janice Shafer (Coons); his grandchildren, Shawn Prater, Bryan Shafer (Kaitlyn), Nick Shafer, Victoria Schauer (Lauren), Denine Diamond (Nolan), Hannah, Tyler and Parker Shafer; his great grandchildren, Maya Shafer, Brayden Prater, Olivia Wilkins, Layne, Chase and Sadie Diamond; and his brother James Shafer (Janice). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
