She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Shatley and Lillian Shatley (Campbell); her husband Joseph Scott; her son David Scott; and her granddaughter Linda DeOrazio.

She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Mary Ellen Scott. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.

“I met Ruth in 2015 when joining the TOPS group. For eight years Ruth has been a wonderful inspiration. Learning of all the years Ruth walked and kept on walking, gave me motivation to be like Ruth. Ruth and her lovely daughter, Barbara, were a duo to look up to. The inclement weather did not deter them from coming out to spend some time with us. Over these eight years Ruth participated in our luncheons and picnics - always a smile on her beautiful face. Thank you for these years, Ruth.”
