He was predeceased by: his father Howard Slater; his wife Arline; his daughter Terri Tiedtke; his son-in-law Joel LeGoff; and his grandson Matthew Tiedtke.

He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy Morrison (Bruce) of Lake Katrine, Joanne LeGoff of Saugerties and Gerri Fieno (Bob) of Cornelius, NC; his grandchildren, Joel LeGoff (Beth), Adrian LeGoff (Carey), Derek LeGoff, Kate Olmsted (TJ), Elizabeth Fieno and Joseph Fieno; and his great grandchild Kaelin LeGoff. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hudson Valley Hospice.
