She was predeceased by: her parents, Briggs Carigan and Nina A Tompkins (Stinard) of Pawling; her son Daniel; her husband Michael; and her siblings, Lloyd Stinard Tompkins, Mable Eleanor Tompkins, Evelyn Tompkins, Leroy Leon Tompkins, Virginia Louise Tompkins and Dorothy Arletta Tompkins.
She is survived by: her son Michael Thornton (Ann) of Gansevoort; her daughter-in-law Patricia Thornton of Saratoga Springs; her children, Timothy Thornton (Deborah) of Greenfield Center, Matthew Thornton (Wanda) of Gansevoort and Cherrie Bishop (Al) of Nashua, NH.; her grandchildren, Tracy Locke (Chip), Michael Thornton, Kate Nichols, Clayton Nichols, Brendan Thornton, Christine Delaney (Jason), Kathryn Cannone (John), Ralph Grotto (Giulianna), Eric Bishop and Erin Thornton (Anthony Weils); and her great grandchildren, Sydney, Jackson, Zachary, Rylie, Liam, Olivia, Cecilia, Harlow, Dennis, Francesca, Julian and Rosalie.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Community Hospice, who assisted in caring for Elizabeth at the end of her life.
