He was predeceased by: his parents, Osbert Ranken and Olive Hull Ranken of Poestenkill. He is survived by: his wife Eileen "Bumsie" Chriss Ranken; his children, Jeff Ranken (Jeannette) and Kristi Ranken of Averill Park; his grandchildren, Gregory Ranken of Saratoga, Tori Ranken (Ben Walters) of Halfmoon, Tyler Ranken of Burden Lake and Ryan Ranken (Hannah Weatherwax) of Burden Lake; his great grandchild Parker Walters; his sisters, Alice Moses (late Edwin) of Poestenkill and Grace Russo (Tony) of Cohoes; and his cousin Ruthie Hayner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family request donations in memory of William Ranken be made to Wounded Warrior, Tunnel of Towers, Parkinson's or the charity of choice.
