He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Detro and Thelma Button Detro; his siblings, Robert, Bruce, Marge and Barb; and his son Shawn Meeks.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Wellman Detro of Phelps; his son Rich Detro (Jennifer) of Geneva; his daughter-in-law Michelle Meeks of Penn Yan; and his grandchildren, Gina Ronan (Ian), Shelby Blair (Connor) and Autum Meeks Many. He is also survived by Many nieces and nephews.
