He was loved and cherished by many people including: his former wife Elizabeth Flood; his parents, Eugene Flood and Josephine Flood; his wife Betty; his daughters, Cathy Richards (George), Kelly Kohlbrenner (Andy) and Christine Mascola (Ted); his siblings, Jay (Maria), Gerard (late Louise), Debbie Kincaid (Jeff), Colleen and Patrick (Barbara); his grandchildren, Jessica Perez (Alex), George Richards (Laura), Meghan Richards, Melissa Richards, Rebecca Richards, Timothy Richards, Caile Martinez (David), Conor, Cara, Christy Kohlbrenner, Teddy and Eugene Mascola; and his great grandchildren, Makayla, Thomas Mackey, Alexalyn Sophia, Katherine Perez, Hailey Richards and Jonathan Richards. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
