He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth, Sr. Short and Sarah Short; and his siblings, Kenneth "Butch" Short, David Short and Carol Rogers.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Short; his children, Crystal Johnson, Dale Short, LaVerne (Genelle Depuysselier), Steven (Fran Short) and Jess Short (Liz); and his brother Roger Short. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
