He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Mendell and Lillian Mendell; his brother Herbert (Rhoda); and his daughter Paula. He is survived by: his children, Neil Mendell (Kathy), Ted Mendell (Inga) and Janice Tocco (Tom); his grandchildren, Matt (Meg), Julie (Josh), Haley, Jaden and Angela; his great grandchild Julian; his sister-in-law Blanche; his nephews, Peter (Jean) and Todd (Paula); and his niece Donna (Thomas).
