He was predeceased by: his parents, Adelbert M. Hughes and Elizabeth Hughes (Whitney); and his siblings, Art Hughes, Jean Laterra, Delbert Hughes, Charles Hughes, Phyllis Strobeck, Betty Card and Bobby Hughes.

He is survived by: his wife Cegret Hughes; his children, Joyce Schoemaker (Dave), Barb MacIntyre (Dave) and Albert Hughes (Janet); and his sister Linda Louden. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
