He is survived by: his son Sean Bates of Rensselaerville; his parents, Michael Ross and Lee Anne Ross of Hermon; his brother Wesley Bates (Sue) of Rensselaerville; and his nephew Noah Bates. He is also survived by several aunts and an uncle.
