He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marjorie Tripp (Smith) and Benjamin Tripp; his wife Loretta Menard; his children, Sharon Provo (John) of Norwich, NY, Teresa Collins (Robert) of Norwich, NY, John Tripp (Cindy) of Norwich, NY, Donna Ham (Phil) of Norwich, NY, Kathleen Smith (Hayne) of McGraw, Sandra Nigolian (Mark) of Burlington, VT and Jennifer Tripp of Chattanooga, TN.; his grandchildren, Brianne (Mike Fracassi), Joseph (Laura Provo), Kelly (Nick Colosi), Sam Distefano, Vincent Distefano and Adrien; his grandparents, Greta Smith, Anna, Sophie, Grace Nigolian, Ellie and Ethan Bixler; his son James Joseph Tripp; his granddaughter Emily Collins; and his siblings, James Doliver and Judy Streichert.
