He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Bennett and Jennie Bennett (Abrams); his wife Elaine Joyce Thurber; his daughter Tammy Barnard; and his siblings, Arthur Bennett, Clifford Bennett, Melvin Bennett, Kenneth Bennett and Beverly Heim.

He is survived by: his daughters, Belinda Angus (Gary), Terri Patak (Doug), Trudy Blue (Ralph) and Beth Bennett; his grandchildren, Aubrey, Jennifer, Mindy, Tanya, Jeffrey, Lucas, Jennie, Tyler, Michael, Connor, Miranda and Mark; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Bennett, Ida Bennett, Cindy Bennett and Floyd Heim.
