He is survived by: his wife Gertrude "Gert" Mary Raymond; his children, Christina Schoenherr (George) of Vero Beach, Thomas Thoben (Pam) of Palm Bay, Alexander R. Thoben and Volker Buss of Germany; and his sister Margaret Thoben of Norfolk, Virginia. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
