It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Butch Ellis (Monticello, New York), who passed away on January 25, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ellis, Sr. and Caroline Walker Ellis; his wife Daisy L. Johnson Ellis; and his sister Jearlene I. Cleveland. He is survived by: his brothers, James Ellis, Jr. and George Ellis; his close friend Freida Luster; his sister Armelda Bracey (Samuel) of Monticello, NY; his sister-in-law Terry Ellis of Wappingers Falls, NY; his sons, Gregory Johnson (Yvette) of Morristown, NJ, Richard "Moon" Ellis, Jr. (Youlanda), Darren Ellis (Monique Robles) of Monticello, NY and Chad Washington (Iesha Ross) of Monticello, NY.; and also, Tonya McGregor and Ben Luster. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
