She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Holbrook Bailey and Beatrice Eleanor Phinney; her husband Robert Whipple; her siblings, Bernard H. Bailey Jr. and Katherine Johnson; and her friend Frank Housel.
She is survived by: her children, Marsha Nitzsche, John Whipple (Brenda), Julia Watts Bacon and Laura Belson (John). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
