He was predeceased by: his wife Audrey; his son-in-law Kent Lachney; his brother Amile Starkey; and his parents, Thomas A. Starkey and Versie Blount Starkey.
He is survived by: his daughter Dena Starkey; his close friend Larry Johnson of Lyons Falls; his grandchildren, Virginia "Ginger" Williams (Robert Baslow), Louis A. "Butch" Brecheen II (Brandy) and Charles D. "Bocky" (Kimberly Brecheen); his great grandchildren, Aaron, Stormie, Sarah and David; and his great great grandchild Bryan.
