He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Murphy and Mary Luebbert Murphy; his wife Doreen Pelletier Murphy; his children, Joan Murphy Robson (Rob Robson), Lauren Murphy (Raymond Rocha), Carl Murphy (Lisa Sheridan Murphy), Kristen Murphy Panzetta (Frank Panzetta), Patrick Murphy (Margaret Hayes Murphy), Cece Murphy and Cho Murphy; his grandchildren, Zak Robson, Natalie Robson Randall, Adam Randall, Nate Robson, Rosanna Rocha, Ben Rocha, Sam Murphy, Anna Panzetta Tilley, Quinn Tilley, Joe Panzetta, Anthony Panzetta, Mary Panzetta, Tom Panzetta, Katherine Murphy Bradley, Keith Bradley, Maureen Murphy and Samantha Murphy; his great grandchildren, Anne-Marie, Eliza, Laura, Kayne, James, Molly, Troy and Luke; his siblings, Mary Murphy LaLonde, Pat Murphy Fletcher, Joan Murphy Robinson, Lois Murphy Manley and Larry Murphy; and his siblings-in-law, Chuck Robinson, Gloria Murphy, Elaine Stowell, Joe and Mary Jo Pelletier. He was also cherished by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Each year he made and donated a couple thousand cookies to WCNY for their auction volunteers.
