He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Mett and Kathleen Mett (Scott); and his siblings, Douglas Mett and Dalores Mett. He is survived by: his children, Donald Mett Jr. (Ilda), Annette Andrew (Kevin), Kimberly Conkin (Terry) and Melissa Johnson (Nelson); and his siblings, Gregory Mett, Russell Mett, Kevin Mett and Eleanor Oakes. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
