Muawia Barazangi Obituary

We are sad to announce that on March 30, 2022, at the age of 80, Muawia Barazangi (Lansing, New York) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Dr. Muawia Barazangi; his siblings, Bade'e and Hind; and his granddaughter Safa Smith Barazangi.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for contributions to Cornell University's Institute for the Study of the Continents, which Muawia helped found and guided through much of his career.
