He was predeceased by: his wife Nina E. Westpfahl; his daughter Karla Szafranek; his parents, Alice Westpfahl and Joseph Westpfahl; his sisters, Ann Kaufman and Alice Welsh (Redmond); his parents-in-law, Josephine and Vincent Ippolito; and his sister-in-law Rosita Phelan (Joseph).

He is survived by: his children, Tracey Wozniak (David), Raelynn Cardinale (Gary), Paula Schmigel (James), Kellie Mariani (Dominic), Dana Kirker (Jason) and Corey Galbaugh (late Bryant); his grandchildren, Bobbi Kumro (Nate), Shauna Cardinale, Jena Westpfahl (Adam Rucinski), Joseph Cardinale, Andrew Westpfahl, Michael Szafranek (Mary King), Hailey Kirker and Jillian Galbaugh; and his pet Handsome. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
