He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd McDowell and Ruth McDowell (Vandawalker); and his siblings, Claris Fischer, Helen Hailston and Howard McDowell.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores "Dee" C. Brant; his children, Cynthia "Cindy" Blanchard of Ilion, Robert "Bob" J. McDowell (Julie) of Ilion and Brenda Lee Stedman (Glen); his grandsons, Casey Callister (Maiko), Cory McDowell (Jackie) and Jesse McDowell; and his great grandchildren, Kai, Ko Callister, Cole and Ella McDowell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
