He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin C. Thompson Sr. and Helen Cook Thompson; his former wife Beverly Jean Thompson; his wife Janis Billig–Thompson; and his daughter Stacey Lynn Thompson.
He is survived by: his son Edwin C. Thompson III (Kathleen) of Highland; his grandchildren, Ethan and Emma Thompson; and his brother George Thompson (Beverly) of Ballston Spa.
