He is survived by: his children, JoAnn (Dieter Schmidt), Karen (Wilson Frye), Elizabeth (Reimund Lahl), John Peter (Darlene DeForest, Jr.), Jill (Douglas Nash), Thomas (Haley Martell) and Joseph (Heather DeForest); his grandchildren, Jesse, Ysolt Schmidt, Travis, Teairra Schmidt, Peter Schmidt, Eric, Donna Lahl, Jennifer, James Lawrence, Doug, Jessica Nash, Jr., Drew Nash, Deanna Nash, Ethan Martell, Claire Martell and Jordan DeForest; his great grandchildren, Lucy, Everleigh, Andru, Stone, Sailor, Derek, Rose Marie, Jenna, Justin, Jason and Cammie; and his sisters, Margaret Farmer, Jane Whitman, Sue Ellen DeForest and Frances Antill (Rick). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
