He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Powers and Lucy Powers (Major); and his brothers, Paul Powers and Walter Powers. He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his children, Phyllis Sweet (Roger), Cecilia Harrington (Dale), John E. Powers, Wayne Powers (Lisa) and Van B. Church Jr.; and his siblings, James Powers and Betty Winters. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
