He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret and Leo Mahar Sr.; and his former wife Jean Mahar. He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Bossalini (A. Hospital); his children, Susan Hermann (Harry) and Michael Mahar (Leslie); his grandchildren, Brian, Elizabeth Cohoon, Jeanne Clark (Richard), Patricia Ryan (Michael), Noelle, Kimberly, Matthew, Marissa, Lauryn, Leslie, Kathryn, Alison, Ryan, Shannon and Madeline; his great grandchildren, Jameson and Cameron; and his sister-in-law Barbara Bossalini. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his canine friend.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the Town of Hoosick Historical Society through the funeral home.
