With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Filkins (Hoosick Falls, New York), born in Hoosick, New York, who passed away on July 25, 2020 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Filkins; her parents, Raymond Brownell and Ethel Brownell (LeBarron); and her son David Filkins. She is survived by: her children, Charles W. Filkins III of Cohoes, NY, Judith King (Richard) of Troy, NY and Jane Bennett (Wayne) of Burnt Hills, NY; her siblings, Gladys Godermote, Shirley Cottrell, Kenneth and Malcolm Brownell; her grandchildren, Carrie Sunkes (David), Jared Bennett (Alaina) and Kathryn King; and her great grandchildren, Jack, Tucker, Charles Sunkes, Eloise and Rocco Bennett. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rensselaer County Community Hospice through the funeral home.
