He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Strauf; his parents, Cornelious Robert Fitzgerald Sr. and Lucy E. Fitzgerald (Hicks); and his siblings, Ellen Nowalk, Evelyn Palladino, Louise Riley, Danny Fitzgerald and John Fitzgerald.
He is survived by: his siblings, Cornelius Robert Fitzgerald Jr. of Cortland, Lillian Batsford of Homer, Isabelle Petrie of Homer and Mary Henry of Cortland; his nephews, Anthony Fitzgerald (Tony) and Daniel Fitzgerald (Tiny); his friend Darlene Jarvis; his stepchildren, Joan Carey (Gerald) and Dale Strauf, Sr. (Jerra); his stepgrandchildren, Lori Frisbie, Candy Farris (Dan), Tamara Strauf and Dale Strauf, Jr.; his stepgreat-grandsons, Tyler, Alexander Frisbie, Dan, Zachary and Lucas Ferris; and his great great grandchild Carson Houser-Frisbie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
