With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Halvorsen (Highland, New York), born in Cornwall, New York, who passed away on April 23, 2020 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Halvorsen and Louise Halvorsen (Smith); his wife Jeanne Halvorsen; and his siblings, Raymond, Thomas, Harold, Florence and Elizabeth (Betty).
He is survived by: his brother Robert Halvorsen (Joan) of Georgia; his children, Michele Powell (Steven) of Cornwall, NY, Cheryl Gatterdum (Dennis) of Cornwall, NY, Darlene Sarchino (Joseph) of Cornwall, NY and Joseph Halvorsen (Joyce) of Cornwall; and his great grandchild Peyton Calamari.
Due to public health concerns of the CoronaVirus (Covid-19), memorial services for George will be held at a later date.
The family wishes donations to The Hospice Family Residence, Newburgh, NY or the Hudson Valley Food pantry as they strive to meet the needs of those who have been affected by the current CoronaVirus.
