He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Quackenbush and Doris Quackenbush (Bain); his wife Marion Quackenbush; and his siblings, Charles, Richard, Steven, Frances Butler and Charlotte Morris.

He is survived by: his children, John Quackenbush Jr. (Linda) of Greenwich, Hollie Willsey (Rich) of Fort Edward and Dawn Quackenbush (Rod Barrett) of Corinth; his grandchildren, Christopher Abare, Rylee Ingraham, Jaxx Ingraham, Tyler Quackenbush, Schuyler Quackenbush, Rick and Vinnie Willsey; his great grandchildren, Amelia Abare, Noah Willsey and Henry Willsey; his sister Ruby Boynton; and his sisters-in-law, Pauline and Cynthia Quackenbush. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
