We are sad to announce that on February 15, 2021, at the age of 79, Thomas F. Gerlitz of Goshen, New York, born in Brooklyn, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Gerlitz Jr. and Jeannette B. Schweitzer Gerlitz; his former wife Ellie Smith Gerlitz; and his brother Donald Gerlitz. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Purta Gerlitz; his children, David Gerlitz (Judith) of Centreville, VA and Jennifer Burnett (Corey) of Frederick, MD; his stepsons, Todd Purta (Carolyn) of Warwick and Timothy Scott Purta (Beth) of Pine Island; his sister Doris Heller (Wayne) of Davenport, FL; his grandchildren, Abigail Burnett, Emily Burnett (Scott Swisher), Brooks Burnett, Rachael, Rebecca Gerlitz, Tyler, Holly, Leah Purta and Cassandra Caldwell (William); and his great grandchildren, Leilani and Scarlett Caldwell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
