It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Natalie O. McGroder of Fredonia, New York, born in Dunkirk, New York, who passed away on December 8, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Merton Osborne; her husband Raymond McGroder; her son Arden Dean Johnson; her stepdaughter Patricia McGroder; and her former husband Arthur Johnson.

She is survived by: her son Ronald Johnson (Brenda) of Fredonia, NY; her stepchildren, Edward McGroder (Nancy) of Auburn, WA, Shirley Read (John) of Tacoma, WA and Kathy McGroder of Rochester, NY; her grandson James Johnson (Ann) of Cassadaga; her cousin Edward McClenathan; and also, Michael and Todd. She is also survived by grandsons and many great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, 7540 N Gale St, Westfield, NY 14787.

“I was greatly sadden to hear of the passing of Natalie Osborne McGroder. Natalie has been missed since moving from Stuart to NY to live closer to her family. She was a member of our Lt James Hancock, Sr Chapter National Society of the DAC since 2016. Natalie honored her 17th century American Colonist, Charles Frost of Connecticut. Natalie was also a member of our Halpatiokee Chapter of the National Society of the DAR, honoring her Rev War patriot, George Jerry Osborne of New Hampshire.”
