It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Byron W. Mead of Fredonia, New York, born in Dunkirk, New York, who passed away on February 11, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Mead and Marion Slawson Mead; his brother Lewis Mead; his cousins, Richard Slawson and Carol Miller; and his close friend Jeff Marsh.
He is survived by: his wife Kitty Mead of Fredonia; his sons, Michael Mead (Pattie) of Dunkirk and William "Will" Mead (Melissa) of Fredonia; his grandchildren, Brennan Mead of Dunkirk, Michaela of Fredonia, Alexis of Fredonia and Stephen Mead of Fredonia; his brother Roger Mead (Janet) of Effingham, IL; his sister-in-law Carol Mead of Haines City; his nieces and nephews, Stephen Mead (Laurie) of Forestville, Philip Mead (Tonyea) of Lewes, DE, Cindy Flaherty of Cassadaga and Philena Mead of Indianapolis, IN; and his cousin Marilyn Slawson.
