He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Derway and Lillian Derway (Murray); his spouse Shirley Chandler; his siblings, Cliff Derway, Donald Derway and Ruth Richards; his grandchildren, Audrey and Bobby Derway; and his son-in-law John Kelly.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Kelly, Jim Derway (Kathy), Kathy Ross (Peter Ingelston), Mike Derway (Nancy), Robert Derway (Tabetha), David Derway (Jennifer), Bill Derway (Kelli) and Joseph Derway III (Jamie Zeno); his grandchildren, Carrie, Adam, Chad, Nathaniel, Andy, James, Jeremy, Trenton, Tyler, Julia, Sarah, Caitlyn, Keirnan, Emily, Ally, Haley, Joey and Alaidriale; his siblings, Doris Derway and Harold Derway (Joan); his siblings-in-law, Lee Richards and Connie Derway; and his significant other Minnie Cormie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
