It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James L. McCarthy of Elmira Heights, New York, who passed away on October 23, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William McCarthy and Letha McCarthy (Kellogg); his wife Virginia; his siblings, Gladys VanGelder, Dorothy Pack and Donald Chamberlain; and his nephew Donald Pack.
He is survived by: his children, Veronica Yarborough (Tony) of Sylvester, GA, Patrick McCarthy of Valdosta, GA, Wayne McCarthy of Hector, NY, Daniel McCarthy (Jennifer) of Elmira, NY, Edward Carl (Joy) of Belmont, MS and Ron Carl (Pam) of Bisbee, AZ; and his niece Donna Coldiron (Karl) of Horseheads, NY.. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
