She was predeceased by: her mother Sharon Gross. She is survived by: her sons, Derek Chestnut, Todd Chestnut (Jennifer) and Wayne Bloom; her husband Michael Eckert; her grandchildren, Brooklyn, Caleb, Cheyenne and Dylan; her father Bill Gross; and her sister Michelle Wylie (Richard). She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Karen's name to Hospice Buffalo.
