He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerard Sauer and Ida Jane Purdy Sauer; and his siblings, Thomas Sauer and Dawn Pilcher. He is survived by: his wife Johanna A. Zukauskas Sauer; his children, John Paul Sauer (Matt Notarnicola) of Cairo, NY and Andrea Autumn McGuire (Philip) of Clifton Park, NY; his siblings, Gerard Sauer, Robert Hotaling (Laura) and Debra Jean Rocjer; and his grandchildren, Zoe Olivia and Philip John McGuire. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
