He was predeceased by: his parents, Timothy Hegarty and Rita Short Hegarty; his brothers, Timothy Hegarty and John Hegarty (Liz); and his brother-in-law Dr. William Tesauro.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Hegarty; his children, Dan Hegarty (Cari Midgley) of Fairfield, CA, Maura Mongelli (Stephen) of Guilford, CT and Erin Barron (Timothy) of Kennett Square, PA.; his siblings, Michael Hegarty (Anita) and Patricia Tesauro; and his grandchildren, Gabe, Maeve, Jane, Penny, Celia and Matthew.
