He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Sevier and Ione Bryant Sevier; his siblings, Richard Sevier and Anne Buckingham; and his siblings-in-law, Greg Maloney and Linda Sevier.
He is survived by: his wife Janny Donkervoort Sevier; his sons, Gerald Ruiter and Paul Ruiter (Lori); his grandchildren, Austin Ruiter and Kiley Giangiobbe; and his siblings, Jane Maloney, Rita Sevier, Marcia Connelly (Michael), James, John (Jeanie), Charles (Marleah) and David (Patricia). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
