He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Newman and Charlotte Newman (Kurtz); his grandson Danté Bright; his brother Dick Kunkel; his nephew Roger Granger Jr.; his niece Danielle Granger; and his in-laws, William and Dorothy Cass (Lockhart).
He is survived by: his pets, Gizmo, Shadow, Luna, Furgie, Fluffy and Dini; his wife Michelle Newman (Cass); his children, Kimberly Wheland (Dan), Kelly Bright (Frank), Paul Newman (Lisa), Amy Foust (Todd), Shane Newman, Kristin Hughes (Al), Cassie Newman, Sonny Oliver, Kristi Charette, Melanie Blowers and Toni Harvey; his grandchildren, Andre, Tavarris, Nakia, Lawrence, Kalilah, Marquis, Ashanté, Ashanti, Tyler, Dylan, Alexandra, Hailey, Albert V and Elizabeth; his sister Linda Ward (Lance); his sister-in-law Mary Kinkel; and his close friend Neil Ferri. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
