He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cavanaugh and Dorothy Cavanaugh (Wenzel); and his sister Carol Nervina. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Cavanaugh (Ferlenda); his son Christopher (Cassandra Berthold); his grandsons, Ian, Aidan and Alex Cavanaugh; his siblings, Catherine and Thomas Cavanaugh (Linda); and his pet Baxter. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to either the Auburn Food Pantry or a local Alzheimer's Assoc.
