She was predeceased by: her parents, John Harriger and Edna Davenport Harriger; her husband John F. "Jack" Hayward; and her sister Joanne Scolton. She is survived by: her children, Alan J. Hayward of Ashville, Douglas (Eloisa) of Illinois, Julie Garvey of Ashville and Janine Johns (Matthew) of Washington, PA; her grandchildren, Chelsea Johns, Dylan Johns, Aaron Garvey, Tamara Hayward and Diego Lopez; and her siblings, Donald Harriger of California, Ruth Adams of Lexington, SC and Margaret "Peggy" Harriger of Woodbridge, VA..
