He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis M. and Flossie M. Preston Whitney (Behn); his daughters, Robyn Preston and Vicky Sue Preston; his brother Merton Preston; and his grandson Zachary Wallenbeck.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Hilsdorf Preston; his children, Lauri Wallenbeck (Douglas) of Ithaca, Mark Preston (Mari Steffensmeier) of Calif, Randy Preston of Ky and Scott Preston of Campbell; his grandchildren, Geoffrey Preston, Matthew Preston, Derek Preston and Zoey Wallenbeck; his great grandchildren, Alex Preston and Isaac Preston; his siblings, Drexel "Keever" Preston (Marlene) of Canaseraga, Gerald Preston (Holly) of Mass and Beverly Raub (William); and his friend Mark Coddington of Howard. He is also survived by several nieces nephews.
