He is survived by: his wife Paula (Stepnick); his parents, Donald Long and Barbara Long; his siblings, Suzanne Vesper (Charles) and Brian Long (Lori); and his siblings-in-law, David Stepnick and Diane Heim (Jeffrey). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
