He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Smith and Hazel Smith (Elkin); his wife Gloria (Weise); and his siblings, Harvey, Frederick, Phillip, John Joe, Clara, Rhoda and Millie.
He is survived by: his son Robert Smith of Louisiana; and his grandchildren, Michael Smith of Georgia and Joann Larson. He is also survived by great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
