She was predeceased by: her daughter Sharmaine Rutledge; her mother Jean Pease; her stepfather Norman Pease; her in-laws, Louise and Arthur Rutledge Sr.; her brother-in-law Ivory Lee Rutledge; and her nieces and nephews, Daniel Carr, Craig Rutledge, Patrick Baldwin, Netisha Bryant and Kymberly Rutledge.
She is survived by: her husband James Arthur Rutledge; her son James Michael Rutledge; her siblings, Tony Scoles, Rick Scoles, Tina Schnyder (Gerald) and Tracy Reason; and her siblings-in-law, John Arthur Rutledge, Stella Rutledge Clowers, Debra Rutledge, Albertha Rutledge, Helen Williams, Eunice Richardson (Terrance) and Vanessa Rutledge.
